Summary
This 6 days tour is made to discover the 4,000 island region in the southern part of Laos is one of the most scenic areas. Discovering the 4,000 islands, you may even spot the odd rare freshwater dolphin if you are lucky! The awe-inspiring waterfalls of Khone Phspheng are known as the ”Niagara of the East” for being the largest waterfalls in Southeast Asia. The surrounding forests teem with flourishing vegetation and you will be greeted by the friendly, waving locals as we visit a few villages. You will take a trip to the Boloven Plateau, which will provide you with a refreshing break from the heat and allow you to observe the cultivation of rich coffee, tea and crops on our way.

Day 1
PakseYour driver will meet you at Pakse airport then transfer to your hotel. Enjoy your free time to relax and acclimatize in preparation for the next few adrenaline-filled days!

Day 2
Pakse - Ban Hatsaykhou - Don KhoneAfter breakfast, your guide and driver will meet you at your hotel in Pakse and head south towards the Four Thousand Islands. We arrive at the small village of Hat Saykhoon which serves as the starting point for our kayaking, we paddle down the Mekong passing by peaceful island villages and forests until at a small island beach where we enjoy a picnic lunch and spend some time relaxing.
After enjoying our lunch, we continue onwards to Don Khone Island which is where we shall spend the night at a local guest house and watch the sunset (During the dry season, it is possible to camp if you wish).
Today Activities:
– 4.5 hours kayaking or rafting dependent on the season.

Day 3
Don Khone - Liphi waterfall - Ban Hangkhone - Dolphin Area - Khone Phapheng - Tad FaneAfter breakfast, your guide will meet you at the guesthouse and take a short morning walk to visit some of the colonial buildings on the island before continuing onwards to see the spectacular Lee Phi Waterfall, we stand watching as the waterfall and listen as the water crashes down over the rocks.
We enjoy lunch at this magnificent location, after which we paddle on downstream to Ban Hang Khone which takes us through some much more tranquil waters and through the gorges giving you the chance to take in the beautiful views.
Arriving at Ban Hang Khone, we paddle onwards for a short while to an area inhabited with dolphins. We are working with local authorities to set up a dolphin conservation fund here, a percentage of each tour in the area being dedicated to the fund.
After spending some time in the area and hopefully spotting some dolphins, from here we will continue to Veankham, where we will meet our vehicle and drive to visit Khone Phapheng Waterfall and drive to Tad Fane for stay overnight.

Day 4
Tad Fane - Pak Song - Tree Top Explore 1After breakfast, your guide will meet you at the guesthouse and heading to Ban Nongluang which acts as the starting point for the next three days’ adventure.
Upon arrival in Nongluang, you will be met by your local guide who will give you a full safety briefing and teach you about the different types of plants in the forest and how they are used in traditional medicine. After your briefing, you will begin hiking through coffee plantations and pineapple groves before entering the dense forest where after a while you will cross a walkway high in the trees. Across a steep river valley, you will go past the huge tiger waterfall and the towering Kamet waterfall which plunges down over 100m into a massive stone basin. Here you will enjoy lunch amongst the beautiful surroundings before beginning the thrilling zip lining!
After lunch, the fun really starts! You will spend the rest of the day zip lining through the treetops and past the towering waterfalls, a truly amazing experience that is sure to stick with you forever! After an adrenaline-fueled day, you will return to the camp to enjoy a delicious BBQ dinner before retiring to your accommodation for the night in a tree house.
Day 5
Tree Top Explore 2The second day brings even more fun than the first day as you wake up in the midst of a forest in a tree house to the cacophony of bird songs and the distant howls of monkeys. An early morning zip line from your tree house to the base camp will take you to enjoy a light breakfast, before taking a short trek out to the zip lines.
The day is full of thrills as you zip line through towering treetops and past giant waterfalls in a way as close to a monkey as anyone will get! Several zip-lines work to bring you up to the highlight of the day which is a gigantic zip-line more than 400M in length which takes you on a thrilling fast journey through the treetops, a truly action-packed and adrenaline-fueled day is guaranteed! A picnic lunch is enjoyed amongst the jungle after which the afternoon is spent enjoying more zip-lining before taking a relaxing swim at a nearby waterfall.
After an action-packed day, you will return to the jungle camp where you will enjoy a relaxing evening around the campfire accompanied by a delicious BBQ dinner as you sit and listen to different sounds of the Jungle before retiring to your tree house for another night’s sleep in the treetops.

Day 6
Tree Top Explore 3 and back to PakseWake up in the treetops amongst bird songs as the jungle comes alive at sunrise before once more zip lining to the camp to enjoy a simple yet satisfying breakfast, before heading off trekking through the jungle for another fun-filled day!
You will begin by trekking uphill past towering trees and through the dense jungle until arriving at a point where the trail appears to stop. The only way to continue is down via iron via-Ferrata which are ‘glued’ into rock face, you will climb down the sheer cliff face using the iron hoops whilst of course secured at all times by state of the art safety gear ensuring that you have a thrilling time whilst remaining 100% safe at all times.
Arriving at the bottom of the towering cliff face, you will continue on trekking until arriving at a plateau at the peak of the mountain. Here you are rewarded with some stunning views of the surrounding area and across the Mekong into the distance in Thailand. Here in this amazing location, a delicious picnic lunch is enjoyed and we take some time to relax whilst taking in the truly beautiful scenic views.
After lunchtime, an easy downhill trek takes you back to Ban Nongluang where transport awaits for the journey back to Pakse.
