Day by day Itinerary
Day 1
LUANG PRABANG - ARRIVAL [-/-/D]Your driver will meet you at the airport and transfer to your hotel in Luang Prabang, where a welcome drink will be served. Check-in and refresh in your room. If time permits, orientation tour of the town by electric tuk-tuk.
Option: Baci Ceremony - Baci is a specific ceremony in Laos which has been practiced for hundreds of years. The term commonly used is “sou Chuan” which means “spirit enhancing or spirit calling”. The ceremony involves the tying of white cotton strings around a oerson’s wrists and the prayer saying or well-wishing for the person that the ceremony is intended for.
The Baci ceremony is held on many different occasions or events throughout the year. It can be held any day of the week though it has to be on a good day in the lunar calendar. These good days are known to elders, senior monks, or ex-monks. The ceremony can be held for both sad times and happy times.

Day 2
LUANG PRABANG – PAK OU CAVES – LUANG PRABANG [B/L/D]After breakfast, your guide will meet you at the airport and continue to embark at the local pier of Luang Prabang on a traditional boat and cruise upstream on the Mekong River to visit the sacred Buddha caves. On the way, stop at Thin Hong a picturesque village to get a glimpse of daily life. Visit Tham Ting and Tham Phoum caves where you will find hundreds of Buddha statues.
Lunch on board
Return to Luang Prabang by boat. On the way back, stop at Ban Xang Khong, handmade paper village. Drop in the old city for a walk or shop at a Hmong market.
Return to your hotel at Luang Prabang.
Day 3
LUANG PRABANG – CITY TOUR – VIENTIANE [B/L/D]Early morning, when the sunrise, participate in the Tagbat ceremony, the monks’ alms offering. This ritual is an important part of Lao people’s life and offers a memorable experience and great snapshots. Your guide will explain how to follow the strict customs and rules involved. After the ceremony, you will visit fresh local market. Return to your hotel for breakfast.
After breakfast, we go on to visit the Royal Palace Museum housing the most important treasures of Laos’ recent past, continue to Vat Xieng Thong at the tip of the peninsula. The oldest and most beautiful temple of the UNESCO World heritage town dates back from the 16th century. The roof sweep low to the ground and glass colored panels adorn the walls of the chapels; see the residential neighborhoods of the peninsular. The last visit will be at Wat Mai.
Lunch at Couleur café restaurant.
Excursion by car to Kuangsi waterfall 32 km to the west of Luang Prabang. A short walk through the forest to the waterfall. After enjoying the scenery, take a swim in one of the nearby clear pools. Visit the Asian bear sanctuary. Then transfer to the airport for your departure flight to Vientiane.
Your driver will meet you at Vientiane airport and transfer to your hotel in Vientiane.

Day 4
VIENTIANE – CITY TOUR [B/L/D]After breakfast, your guide and driver will meet you at your hotel and continue visit to Vat Sisaket, the oldest monastery in Vientiane, built-in 1818. Continue to nearby Ho Phrakeo, the former Royal temple, now a Museum of Buddhist art and sculpture (closed until the end of 2015, alternative: Lao weaving and textile museum). Visit Talat Sao, the morning market, to buy Lao textiles and basketry as souvenirs.
Lunch at Local restaurant
Afternoon proceeds to That Luang with its golden stupa in the characteristic banana flower shape. It is the most revered shrine in Laos. Stop at Patouxay (the Victory Monument) for a view of the city. Proceed to That Dam Stupa and walk to the Nam Phou Square marking the center of town. Be sure to explore the streets leading to the Mekong and take a walk on the riverbank in the late afternoon.
Return to your hotel in Vientiane.
Day 5
VIENTIANE – PAKSE – CHAMPASAK – DON KHONE [B/L/D]Your driver will meet you early at your hotel in Vientiane and transfer to the airport for flight to Pakse.
Your guide and driver will meet you at the airport and transfer to a local restaurant for a local coffee at the Sinouk Cafe before transfer to a local pier to embark on a traditional boat for a 2 hours cruise to Champasak. Continue by car to visit Vat Phou, the ruin Khmer temple from an 8-11th century and a local museum. Lunch at local restaurant.

Day 6
DON KHONE - 4000 ISLANDS – PAKSE [B/L/D]After breakfast, your guide will meet you at your lodge at Don Khone and drive to the mighty Khonphapeng Waterfalls at the southern tip of Laos. Continue to the port for a ferry boat to Don Khone and Don Det. Cross the French railway bridge linking Don Khone and Don Det and see the old locomotive. Walk to the beautiful Liphi Waterfalls. Lunch at a local restaurant.

The ride last 3-4hours, is medium grade with some hills, and we'll make a stop to explore villages and a Hmong Culture Museum along the way. Kuang Si Waterfall spans a large area through some of the lushest jungle around Luang Prabang. Easy walking trails wind past numerous pools and cascading waterfalls where you can relax and swim . Lunch will be provided at the waterfall. There are a small number of private changing rooms near the waterfall where you can change into your swimsuit. You can also see up close Asiatic bears at the Bear Rescue Centre along the jungle walk to the waterfall.
