For your information, Amphawa Floating Market is a weekend market and crowds of vendors and tourists head there on Saturday & Sunday (Friday evening is also a good moment to explore the place). It is a must to take a motorized long-tailed boat to witness the traditional Thai life along the Amphawa canal. Disembark at Wat Bang Kung, a rarely found and amazing temple dating back to the Ayuthaya period. This temple features a huge Banyan tree embracing a chapel with its roots. Afterward, continue the drive to Wat Pumarin Kudi Thong, a temple that is famous for its teak-wood chapel and its museum with antique well-preserved objects. After that, proceed to Petchaburi and enjoy your lunch en route at a local restaurant.
After lunch, your driver will take you to Khao Luang, a cave with many much-worshiped Buddha statues. Another stop along the route will be at King Mongkut's Summer Palace, a luxurious residential complex located on a 92—meter-high verdant hill. Chiang Mai to Luang Prabang | Private Cycling
This ten-day journey moves north to south through two countries on two wheels, covering 545 kilometres of terrain that ranges from teak forest singletrack to the limestone corridors above the Mekong. The route begins quietly alongside the Ping River in Chiang Mai and builds steadily through hill tribe uplands, border crossings, and the rural interior of northern Laos before arriving in Luang Prabang. Each day is structured around the landscape rather than a schedule, with private boat transfers, forest treks, and cultural pauses folded naturally into the riding. Accommodation is chosen for position and quality of setting. The pace allows time to observe without rushing past it.

Chiang Mai to Luang Prabang: Hidden Thailand Ride
This twelve-day cycling journey moves overland and by river from the walled city of Chiang Mai through the highland interior of northern Thailand before crossing into Laos at Chiang Khong. The riding passes through national parks, hill-tribe territories, and centuries-old temple complexes that receive little outside attention. Days in Laos follow the Nam Ou valley southward through village landscapes and forested ridgelines toward Nong Khiaw, arriving finally in Luang Prabang by river and road. The pace allows genuine engagement with the places and people along the way rather than passage through them.
