7-Day Excursion from River Kwai to Erawan Falls to Hua Hin Beach
Summary
Bask in the relaxation of a floating hotel as you enjoy accommodation at the River Kwai Jungle Rafts. You’ll feel absolutely rejuvenated by this trip and even more refreshed if you choose to go to Hua Hin beach. You’ll first discover Thailand’s rich history by heading to the Thailand-Burma Railway Centre — an interactive museum. Continue to the Allied War Cemetery, where over 6,000 prisoners of war are buried. The Erawan National Park is a huge attraction in this area. Home to one of Thailand’s greatest waterfalls, the Erawan Waterfall, feel free to swim in any of its seven pools. You’ll cross the world-famous bridge over the River Kwai, which is just one part of the Death Railway. Another is the Death Railway Train, which you’ll get to ride as you witness magnificent scenery in Kanchanaburi. Explore the local village with a mountain bike, which you’ll also use to cross a hanging bridge to reach a temple. There, get some karma as you give food to the local monks. Interact with the monks once again when you visit the Tiger Temple. This wildlife conservation project focuses on caring for abandoned animals like tigers, water buffaloes, peacocks, and certain horses.

Founded in 1975 as Thailand’s 12th National Park, it is covering an area of 550 km². The major attraction of the park is the 7-tiered Erawan Falls with emerald green ponds. There are also several impressive and long caves within the park, some of them deeper inside the park, few of them along the roads around the park. The park and the falls are named after the three-headed white elephant of Hindu mythology. The top tier of the falls is said to resemble an elephant head, where you will hike to Erawan Waterfall. What makes Erawan Falls so popular is its picturesque emerald green clear waters. It is nowhere near being any of the biggest or widest falls in the country, but much more charming than most. It has 7 major tiers and a few smaller tiers. All tiers are accessible by a series of trails and footbridges all the way up to the 6th tier. The last tier is accessible by scrambling up to a few cliffs, for those who like a bit more challenge. Recently, a concrete path was built to make it safer to walk on wet conditions. The total distance from the trailhead up to the top tier is nearly 1.5 km. There are many emerald green ponds along the trails that the visitors are allowed to swim in. The ponds are full of fish.
After enjoying lunch alongside the waterfall, you will hike back to the road and be transferred to the world-famous Tiger Temple. A wildlife project established in 1995 by local monks, the temple is devoted to the care and preservation of abandoned animals, which include tigers, water buffaloes, peacocks, and horses. You will have an opportunity to get close to the animals and meet with the monks that take care of them.

This ten-day journey moves north to south through two countries on two wheels, covering 545 kilometres of terrain that ranges from teak forest singletrack to the limestone corridors above the Mekong. The route begins quietly alongside the Ping River in Chiang Mai and builds steadily through hill tribe uplands, border crossings, and the rural interior of northern Laos before arriving in Luang Prabang. Each day is structured around the landscape rather than a schedule, with private boat transfers, forest treks, and cultural pauses folded naturally into the riding. Accommodation is chosen for position and quality of setting. The pace allows time to observe without rushing past it.

Chiang Mai to Luang Prabang: Hidden Thailand Ride
This twelve-day cycling journey moves overland and by river from the walled city of Chiang Mai through the highland interior of northern Thailand before crossing into Laos at Chiang Khong. The riding passes through national parks, hill-tribe territories, and centuries-old temple complexes that receive little outside attention. Days in Laos follow the Nam Ou valley southward through village landscapes and forested ridgelines toward Nong Khiaw, arriving finally in Luang Prabang by river and road. The pace allows genuine engagement with the places and people along the way rather than passage through them.
