Day by day Itinerary
Day 1
PHNOM PENH – KEPYour guide and driver will meet you at a hotel in Phnom Penh or airport and transport you to Kep.
Kep City is a municipality in Cambodia with the status of a province. Kep is just a few kilometers from the border with Vietnam. It used to be Cambodia's most popular beach town but has fallen on hard times in recent years (especially due to the Khmer Rouge). Many of Kep's mostly French villas are abandoned, but some of the town's former splendor is still apparent. Kep appears to be experiencing something of a renaissance — with several mid-range and luxury guesthouses and bungalows recently opened or still under construction. The seafood is cheap, plentiful and delicious, particularly the quite famous crabs. Kep is also home to an extensive national park covering some mountains with deep green jungle.
Taking a boat to the nearby islands is also a breathtaking experience. Another itinerary, which must not be missed, is an excursion to the serene waterfalls of 'Tuk Chhou" situated about 10 km from Kampot. Kep City is located in the Southwest of Phnom Penh. The city is accessible by the National Road No 3 from Phnom Penh via Kampot province (173 km) or by the National Road No 2 from Phnom Penh via Takeo province.
Especially during the Sixties, during the time of Sang Kum Reas Ni Yum, the city was developed as a beautiful seaside tourist resort for the rich and for government officials. The story related to the name of Kep said that there was a king named Sa Kor Reach, who had a mighty spell. He put a sleeping spell on a commander at Angkor Thum, then, stole the commander's white horse and fled together with his troop to the Southwestern seaside.
The distance is 163 km or around 3 - 4 hours by road.
Enjoy your leisurely afternoon at Kep beach.

Day 2
KEPAfter breakfast, your guide will meet you at your hotel to start a full day of adventure. This tour allows tourists to enjoy the Kampot countryside by bike and arrive at the Veal Pouch Waterfalls. This is a hidden and not yet developed resort on the Bokor Mountain hill. When you go there, you will find the perfect mountain scenery and a 40 meter high waterfall of cold, fresh water.
You'll start the day at the market, mingling with townspeople going about their daily business before heading out on a bike through the local countryside. On the way, you will pass through Khmer villages and alongside rice paddies being worked by the local farmers. You'll reach the base of Bokor Mountain.
Located within Bokor National Park, with its lush primary rainforest and stunning vistas, the Hill Station was built in the early 1920s as a place for the French to escape the lowland heat. It consisted of the Bokor Palace Hotel, a Catholic Church, post office, schoolhouse, King’s residence, and numerous other unknown and abandoned buildings that dot the Landscape.
Bokor Hill is 1,075 meters high and promises good weather and magnificent views. Big trees casting shadows over the water and rocks shaped as animal figures hold particular interest for tourists. The mountain overlooks Kampot Town, Kep Beach, Preah Sihanouk Province, and blue seawater.
For the ride, for the scenery, for the cool mountain air, for the adventure, for relaxation (and now for gambling). All good reasons to travel the top of Bokor Mountain. And now, there’s a world-class resort and casino with 2 restaurants, a luxury hotel, and a tent camping on a lake.
There are stories of wild animals on the mountain, including lions and tigers and bears, and elephants, but if you actually see them, please let us know. You might see some giant birds or parrots, wild monkeys and some of the smaller large cats.
There are some sights to see on the way up, and at the top, such as the waterfalls, the Bokor Hydroponics Farm, and the old King’s “stuff” accommodations, the old Church, so you might want to take a few rest breaks along the way.
The bikes are left behind as you'll hike about an hour the rest of the way to the remote Veal Pouch Waterfalls. If you wish, you can choose to swim in the cool, clean waters of the pool underneath while relaxing and enjoying the tropical jungle scene that surrounds you. Lunch is served with a wine of your choice and you'll be at leisure for the rest of the afternoon.
Return to your lodge in Kep.
Day 3
KAMPOT - LA PLANTATIONAfter breakfast, your guide and driver will meet you at the hotel and transport you from Kep to Kampot to visit La Plantation, a Certified Organic Kampot Pepper Farm. It is a social and sustainable family project, the perfect combination of traditional farming and modern processing. This sprawling organic pepper farm offers free guided walks in French, English, and Khmer, explaining how several varieties of pepper are grown, harvested and processed.
The farm also grows fruits, chillis, herbs, and peanuts, and there are a restaurant and shop where you can buy pepper at steep prices. Grown traditionally and harvested by hand, the spices are processed with high standards in quality and hygiene and are certified organic by Ecocert. Presentation, tasting and free guided tour in English, French, Khmer, and Chinese. You will understand why Kampot Pepper has been elected #1 best pepper in the world. La Plantation has also a social dimension by improving the living conditions of many people in this rural area and by taking care of primary school.
The pepper farm is 23 km in size and takes 45 min on the small road).
