You’re also free to take refreshing walks through the village and soak in the dreamy Tibetan atmosphere.

Travel to the Potala Palace, the seat of the Dalai Lama, on this fulfilling journey through Tibet. Exploration of the palace is open to the public. Tremendous views are also at your fingertips. You’ll even witness some animated monks holding traditional debates in the courtyard.

Enjoy Nepal’s top river rafting experience along the Trishuli river. You’ll likely come from Kathmandu, the home of sacred shrines, traditional temples, and many monasteries. Take a three-hour bus ride to Malinga and endure a safety briefing before the rafting begins. Head on down the final segment of your rafting adventure over the Trishuli river. You’ll end up at Kathmandu valley or Pokhara, where picturesque scenery awaits. This excursion is suitable for paddler of all ability levels and is as fun as it gets on the water.

Nepal’s first national park will open you to the lifestyle of the Tharu village with cultural dance presentations you can participate in if you so choose. Painted mani stones litter the village of Langtang. Eventually, we’ll see Kyanjin Gompa and a dramatic icefall flowing from Langtang Lirung and Langtang Kinshung. You’ll also see Kyanjin Ri, Langshisha Ri, Gang Chhenpo, and Dorje Lakpa. The largest of them holds a large, black rock which is said to be the head of Shiva. You’ll also explore the Laurebina La pass before heading down.

Trek through the Langtang valley for breathtaking views of the Himalayas. You’ll next head to Syabrubesi, which has a viewpoint for the Ganesh Himal, the Gosaikunda range, and the Goljang valley. On your way to Tatopani, cross a suspension bridge. When you arrive, dip into the natural hot springs with its healing properties. You’ll then climb up to Nagthali Dandi and down to Thuman. A dramatic ice-fall flows here. Continue on to see the Langshisa Ri, Gang Chhenpo, and the Dorje Lakpa. On your descent, see spectacular architecture and the Annapurnas, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, and Langtang Lirung. You’ll arrive at the wondrous Goisakunda lakes, which holds a black rock said to be the head of Shiva. The tall Laurebine pass also lies in your path.

See highly rewarding alpine views of the Ganesh Himal, the Gosaikunda range, and the Goljang valley. Enjoy a tour of sacred temples, monasteries, and ancient shrines. Pass through Trisuli Bazaar to arrive at Syabrubesi. Go to Gatlang, where you’ll experience the charm and tradition of the Tamang village. A long day of trekking follows as you descend to Thangbuchet, near the Bhotekosh River. You’ll cross a local-style suspension bridge to reach Tatopani. Here, feel free to dip into the natural hot springs which locals claim have healing properties. Then head up to Brimdang, then continue on to Nagthali Danda. Go back down to Thuman, another Tamang village whose people will treat you to cultural events. Your trek starts to close with a gentle descent to Timure and on to Briddim. You’re also free to take refreshing walks through the village and soak in the dreamy Tibetan atmosphere.

Travel to the Potala Palace, the seat of the Dalai Lama, on this fulfilling journey through Tibet. Exploration of the palace is open to the public. Tremendous views are also at your fingertips. You’ll even witness some animated monks holding traditional debates in the courtyard.

Enjoy Nepal’s top river rafting experience along the Trishuli river. You’ll likely come from Kathmandu, the home of sacred shrines, traditional temples, and many monasteries. Take a three-hour bus ride to Malinga and endure a safety briefing before the rafting begins. Head on down the final segment of your rafting adventure over the Trishuli river. You’ll end up at Kathmandu valley or Pokhara, where picturesque scenery awaits. This excursion is suitable for paddler of all ability levels and is as fun as it gets on the water.

Nepal’s first national park will open you to the lifestyle of the Tharu village with cultural dance presentations you can participate in if you so choose. You may also opt to lounge around near the poolside, or go bird-watching and discover a few of the over 450 species found in Chitwan. There’s activities like canoeing down the Rapti river where you might come across rare species of crocodiles like the Marsh Mugger and the fish-eating Gharial. The drive to Bees Hazaar Taal (Twenty Thousand Lakes) is an exciting highlight of this trip. Another is the jungle drive-through grassland, riverine and sal forests as you make your way to the Gharial hatchery farm. It’s not uncommon to do several elephant safaris on this excursion, but you may instead opt to go on nature walks or do something else to your liking.

Ride on elephant backs and see birds, crocodiles, and dolphins as you explore incredible wildlife on this safari. This animal lover’s delight begins in the beautiful Tharu garden. You’ll get to learn about local lifestyle and culture as you walk through the Tharu village and take a tour of this Terai region tribe. The museum is your last stop before you visit a crocodile breeding center. What follows is a full day of a walking safari which will bring you to the river banks of the Baghauraphanta and Karnali waters. After that is a half-day walking safari. Even if you opt out, you’ll have an entire day of rafting afterward. There’ll be a mix of bird-watching, crocodile, and dolphin viewing as you go down the river in a dugout canoe or raft. More bird-watching follows and then you may choose to relax or explore your surroundings. Finally, you’ll visit an elephant breeding center before you depart.
