Day by day Itinerary
Day 1
BaganAfter breakfast, your guide and driver will meet you at the hotel in Bagan and be ready for your two-day-biking tour through OLD BAGAN. This is an ancient city in central Myanmar (formerly Burma), southwest of Mandalay. Standing on the eastern banks of the Ayeyarwady River, it’s known in the Bagan Archaeological Area, where more than 2,000 Buddhist monuments tower over green plains. Holy sites around Old Bagan include ornate Ananda Temple, built-in 1091 and topped with a golden stupa. Nearby is the vast 12th-century Dhammayangyi Temple.
First, you will bike to the nearest small town of NYAUNG OO, which is the administrative town of Nyaung-U Township of Nyaung-U District in the Mandalay Region of central Myanmar. It lies on the eastern bank of Ayeyarwaddy River. It is just 4 kilometers away from old Bagan, a popular tourist attraction. The Shwezigon Pagoda is located there.
Bike on towards old Bagan on the historical roads overshadowed by magnificent trees and commence with your visit to the most important temples and pagodas. See the SHWEZIGON PAGODA which is a Buddhist temple located in Nyaung-U, a town near Bagan, in Myanmar. A prototype of Burmese stupas, it consists of a circular gold leaf-gilded stupa surrounded by smaller temples and shrines. Construction of the Shwezigon Pagoda began during the reign of King Anawrahta (r. 1044–77), who was the founder of the Pagan Dynasty, in 1059–1060 and was completed in 1102 AD, during the reign of his son King Kyansittha. Over the centuries, the pagoda had been damaged by many earthquakes and other natural calamities and has been refurbished several times. In recent renovations, it has been covered by more than 30,000 copper plates. However, the lower level of the terraces has remained as they were.
Enjoy lunch at a riverside restaurant. As it gets very hot in Bagan at noontime during the summer and wet seasons, we recommend returning to the hotel for rest; this choice, however, is entirely up to guests’ preferences. In the afternoon, bike to MYINKABA VILLAGE, the most notable features of Myinkaba village are the huge stacks of bamboo one sees everywhere. Bamboo is the raw material for the plaited matting which serves as the walls of houses all over Myanmar. Stop and watch this intricate manufacturing operation in progress: the bamboo is first to split into strands, then deftly woven into large squares.
MANUHA TEMPLE Buddhist temple built in Myinkaba (located near Bagan), by captive Mon King Manuha in 1067, according to King Manuha's inscriptions. It is a rectangular building of two stories. The building contains three images of seats Buddhas and an image of Buddha entering Nirvana. Manuha Temple is one of the oldest temples in Bagan.

Day 2
BaganAfter breakfast, your guide and driver will meet you at the hotel and start biking across the country, through small dirt tracks and walkways to MIN NAN THU village to the east of Bagan, which is an agricultural village that specializes in the production of sesame and peanut oil. The village is well worth a look around if only to view its cow-driven seed grinders.
The village is near the unusual sights of the <strong>TAYOKEPYAY TEMPLE. Tayok Pye is a large temple which is located in Minnanthu. It was built by Narathihapate (1256-1287), also known as the king who fled from the Mongolian invasion. This is the meaning of Tayok Pye in Myanmar. It is one of the best temples decorated with beautiful stucco. People are still allowed to climb up at this temple to view the sunset of Bagan.
PHAYA THONE ZU literally "Temple of Three Buddhas" is a Buddhist temple located in the village of Minnanthu (southeast of Bagan) in Burma. It is unique in the sense that the temple consists of three temples conjoined through narrow passages. The interior of the temple contains frescoes, believed to be Mahayana and Tantric in style. However, the temple was not completed. The temple was recently renovated, with the completion of the three stupas atop the temple, which are lighter in color. Continuing to the Nanda-ma-Nya-hpaya stands about 1 kilometer north or Minnathu village, to the right of the road leading from the village to the modern Aureum Palace hotel. Though it is a small temple, measuring about 9 x 9.5 meters, its interior contains some of the best-preserved mural paintings in Bagan.
You will have the opportunity to explore these temples unless you prefer biking deeper into the countryside for a visit to more off-the-beaten-trail temples and pagodas. We recommend having a look at the KYAT KAN CAVE Monastery. This monastery is one of the most important mediation centers. Here you can get an overview of the life of the monks, old and young, how they learn their religion and carry out various duties there.
In the afternoon, visit the Shwegugyi Temple, which is a Buddhist temple in Bagan, literally "Great Golden Cave"), an ancient city located in the Mandalay Region of Myanmar. From the 9th to 13th centuries, the city was the capital of the Pagan Kingdom, the first kingdom that unified the regions that would later constitute modern Myanmar. The temple was built during the reign of King Alaungsithu in 1131. The temple itself is built on an expansive brick foundation 3 meters (13 ft) tall. The temple is known for its arched windows, and its history, which is inscribed in two stone slabs in Pai. According to its inscription, the temple was completed in seven months. Continuing to SULAMANI is a Buddhist temple located in the village of Minnanthu (southwest of Bagan in Burma. The temple is one of the most frequently visited in Bagan. It was built in 1183 by King Narapatisithu and is similar to the Thatbyinnyu Temple in design. The Sulamani Temple also shows influence from the Dhammayangyi Temple and was the model for the Htilominlo Temple. Sulamani Temple was restored after the 1975 earthquake, and utilizes brick and stone, with frescoes in the interior of the temple. It was rebuilt in 1994. S</em>ites located in Old Bagan. Alternatively, you can also bike to some of the local farming villages.
