Day by day Itinerary
Day 1
UlaanbaatarYour guide and driver will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. Time to rest in your hotel. For lunch, we will taste the famous Mongolian barbecue in the traditional restaurant. Then, we will visit the religious center Gandan Monastery, the National History Museum, and the central square, where we will discover the statue of Chinggis Khaan. At the end of the day, you will enjoy the Folk Art concert, featuring traditional Mongolian dance and khoomii /throat singing/, followed by dinner at your hotel.

Day 2
Ulaanbaatar-TsetserlegAfter breakfast, your guide and driver will meet you at your hotel. Today, we drive to Tsetserleg, the capital of the Arkhangai province (North Khangai). On the way, we will see the unique Mongolian landscape with vast green steppes, where herds breed freely. After our arrival, we will visit the local market as well as the Zaya Gegeen Temple, which is a local museum in the province.

Day 3
Tsetserleg - TsuuriAfter breakfast, your guide and driver will meet you at your hotel. Today, we leave the paved road and follow a track that will lead us to the first host family, a member of the yak herders cooperative. We will discover an important historical site: deer stones of Jargalant, dating from the Huns period. In the afternoon, we will be welcomed by Budee’s family, who live in the beautiful valley of the Tsuuri River. Here, we will observe the first scenes of the nomads' daily life under the yurt. At the end of the day, we will be joining the preparation of our dinner: one of the Mongolian typical meals buuz (dumplings).

Day 4
Budee’s CampAfter breakfast, your guide and driver will meet you at a nomad family. We will spend a full day with Budee’s family. You can freely participate in the daily herding activities. Some will be able to gather sheep and goats before going to graze, on the steppe. The others will benefit from the absence of animals to clean the enclosure, and pick up the dried dung that will use to make fire! Budee is an excellent horse breeder and will introduce us to his job.

Day 5
Budee - NyamdorjAfter breakfast, your guide and driver will meet you in a nomad family. Today we start our trek. We will be riding a horse and going to discover the beautiful region of Arkhangai. We will go through the valley of Tsuuri, filled with nomad families and herds, to the northwest. Following up with high mountains (2400m) will allow us to have a breathtaking view of the entire chain of Khangai mountain. Then, we will go down to the valley of Asait River, where we will meet Nyamdorj’s family, a skillful yak breeder. His wife is also known for her dairy products. In the afternoon, you can freely participate in activities related to yak breeding. Nyamdorj's wife will teach us how to make cheese, yogurt, and alcohol from milk.

Day 6
Nyamdorj - BadamsambuuAfter breakfast, your guide and driver will meet you at a nomad family. Today, we continue to the south following the river Asait. We will hike in the valley of the river Asait, a very small river. We will be welcomed by the Badamsambuu family, living on the bank of the Asait river. Badamsambuu and Ankhtuya are a courageous young couple, determined to follow their ancestral tradition and remain nomads, unlike many young people of their age who left to settle in the city. The couple will introduce us to Mongolian ankle bone games. Mongolians have many ways to play with ankle bones and we can learn how to play horse racing and other ones.

Day 7
Badamsambuu - PurevsurenAfter breakfast, your guide and driver will meet you at a nomad family. After thanking our hosts, we will continue our journey to our next nomadic family, the 70-year-old Purevsuren family. This time, we are going to the west, always following the river Asait. The Purevsuren’s summer camp is located at the confluence of the Asait River and Chuluut, a beautiful place. The Chuluut River is one of the largest rivers in the country. The impressive canyon of this river was created during an earthquake. The family will teach us how to catch a semi-wild horse, using uurga. We will also discover Bronze Age petroglyphs near the family camp.

Day 8
Purevsuren - BatbilegAfter breakfast, your guide and driver will meet you in a yurt. This morning we will be hiking up the mountain that dominates the southern part of our family's camp. Thus, we will arrive on a high plateau, filled with wildflowers. We will cross the plateau from north to south and down to the valley of the river Daagan (means foal). Here, we will be greeted by the Batbileg family, another young couple who have chosen nomadic life.
This family will introduce us to Mongolian wrestling. Batbileg is the champion of his region! Get ready for a good laugh and unforgettable memories.

Day 9
Batbileg - TulgaaAfter breakfast, your guide and driver will meet you in a yurt. Today, we will cross a forested mountain in the Khangai Range. We will be walking in a thick forest of larch. Going down to the valley, we will enter the territory of Undur-Ulaan town. Here, we will meet with Tulgaa’s family. We will discover how to distill milk into alcohol, followed by a taste. Tulgaa’s wife, Nyambuu has been declared champion at the dairy products fair. She will share her secrets for making different types of cheese.

Day 10
Undur Ulaan - Terkhiin Tsagaan Nuur National ParkAfter breakfast, your guide and driver will meet you in a yurt. We continue our journey to Khorgo Terkhi National Park. This national park, famous for its attractive landscapes, was established in 1965 and it consists of two important natural sites: the extinct Khorgo volcano, 2,210m high above sea level, and Terkhiin Tsagaan Nuur(lake), one of the most beautiful in Mongolia. In the evening, we will be welcomed by Munkhbat’s family, an outstanding breeder, they have about 200 yaks.

Day 11
Terkhiin Tsagaan Nuur National ParkAfter breakfast, your guide and driver will meet you in a yurt. We will enjoy a day entirely devoted to the discovery of the national park, its fauna, and flora. We will go for a hike to conquer the summit of Khorgo extinct volcano. On the top, we can have an excellent view of the lake and its surrounding mountains. Then, we continue our hike among the surprising basalt, to finally reach the shores of Lake Terkhiin Tsagaan.

Day 12
Terkhiin Tsagaan Nuur National Park - Tsenkher Hot SpringAfter breakfast, your guide and driver will meet you in a yurt. We will begin our return to the capital. After saying goodbye to the family, we will go to the Tsenkher natural hot spring, which emerges from the ground at 86.5 ° C. Located in a beautiful setting, these springs supply outdoor pools where you can enjoy the hot spa. Containing hydrogen sulfate, this water is renowned for its healing ability that assists in treating articular diseases and nervous system diseases.

Day 13
Tsenkher - UlaanbaatarAfter breakfast, your guide and driver will meet you in a yurt camp. We make our last drive to Ulaanbaatar, where we will arrive in the afternoon.
Before reaching the city, we make a stop at Khustain Nuruu National Park. Created in 1993, this park is especially famous for its successful reintroduction of Przewalski's wild horse, whose population today, reaches about 450 individuals. Ranger from the park will navigate and try to let us see wild horses.
