Treasures of Rajasthan
Summary
The trip takes us through a time machine a few hundreds of years back in time. We find ourselves in extremely remote tribal areas of Rajasthan where life is as primitive as primitive can be. This enables us to capture images of tribal life - in all its traditional colours and innocent hospitality. The feudal respect for the rulers has been retained over several generations. Time seems to have come to a standstill here. Our specially designed program features interesting mix of hiking, sightseeing and relaxation to allow one to experience the best that this exotic corner can offer.

Agra Grew in prominence under the rule of the Mughal Empire in 1526, reaching its zenith between 1556 and 1658, under the successive rules of Akbar, Shah Jehan and Jehangir. Akbar's reign was memorable in the city's history when it became a leading centre of art, science, commerce and culture, drawing intellectuals and artists to its Darbars and Havelis .The Red Fort or Agra Fort, on the banks of the River Yamuna, is situated in the centre of the town. Various styles of architecture are evident within the Fort and demonstrate the boldness of Akbar's period, the refinement of Jehangir's time, and the subtleness of Shah Jehan' rule. The other attractions here include The Diwan-i-Am, the Diwan-i-Khaas and Jodhabai's Palace. Taj Mahal - essentially one man's monumental testimony to Love, has become synonymous not only with this city but with India as a whole. The mausoleum was built by Shah Jehan for his Empress Mumtaz Mahal. The construction is believed to have taken 22 years to complete with over 20,000 craftsmen working round the clock. The design and construction is said to be that of the legendary archi- tect, Ustad Ahamad Lahori. The 17th century Taj Mahal is a marble mausoleum built by Shah Jehan for his Empress Mumtaz Mahal. Imagine the creaking sound of the joints in the rice barge’s bamboo frame on a moonlight night with the brightly shining stars forming an ethereal canopy overhead as you lie on the upper deck of your houseboat. Envisage a scene where the sound of leaves rustling as the wind blows through the coconut palm and banana trees shading the canal and the early morning chanting that gently fills the air coming over from a far-off Hindu temple wakes you up to a mesmerizing morning view of the misty stretches of backwaters and dim silhouette of the vegetation and surrounding villages. Far from the frenzied atmosphere which is evident in the rest of India, backwaters in Kerala offer unhurried and laid back experience along the lush paddy field strewn and coconut grove shaded Malabar coast.
